• Should have clarity on why one opted for the preparation
• Need to understand the demand of the examination
• Do prepare your plan B
• The process of preparation should have a proper balance of strategy for examination and non-academic aspects like social, skill, and hobbies
• Opt for limited sources for ease of revision
• Develop the art of answer writing within the given time frame
• The decision of the optional subject should be taken on the basis of past years' trends and one's aptitude towards the subject
• Preparation of optional shall be done by going through the syllabus, toppers' strategy and PYQs
